VOCAL AIR-OBICS™ INTENSIVE

Emphasis on breath support using breath machines, physical strengthening exercises (Garcia-Marchesi, Vaccai, Rossini “vocal-eases,” tongue and jaw releasing, healthy consonant and finesse work) to develop the greatest breath control to support a “HEALTHY MIX” and the “MOST OPEN AND POWERFUL BELT.”

Develop skills necessary for auditions and source the character’s intention from the passion and spirit of the character! Class utilizes many schools and thoughts of acting, including personalization, sense memory, improvisation, etc.

ACTING COACHING

Instructor: Joshua Finkel

Broadway actor and director Joshua Finkel, MFA, regularly coaches SFAPA students before auditions for film, TV and Broadway-bound shows at his Los Angeles studio, the Creative Combustion Acting Studio. He also coaches over the phone using his unique Phone Coaching system, which provides a detailed breakdown of any piece, monologue, song or scene, as well as cabaret act development, dialect work and cold reading technique.

Clients often touch base with Joshua weekly to work on their skills, prep for upcoming projects and travel to LA weekly/monthly to work with him privately or to participate in his Performers Workshop in North Hollywood. Joshua is available to come to San Francisco to coach privately as well as teach one of his 11 master classes. 			VOCAL AIR-OBICS™ JUNIOR INTENSIVE Instructor: Richard Nickol & Becky Jones This is an introduction to the breath-support system with emphasis on understanding and using proper singing breathing technique. Class uses the release of unhealthy constrictive tension and replaces it with constructive healthy support in order to free the voice and experience healthy singing, and prevention of damage to the vocal cords. At the end of each session students have the option of working on a song “one on one” with the teacher. Class especially designed for 14 and under.
